In 2004 this website began life as a joint project led by Birmingham Libraries to inspire designs for the world renowned local jewellery industry.

Now we hope to widen this resource of over 3,000 illustrations to a larger audience.

    
Many of the images in the database are taken from Birmingham Central Library's vast Early and Fine Printing Collection and show an astonishing and beautiful variety.
